• The Niles City Council approved Monday the request for permission to conduct the ninth annual Niles Burn Run, a motorcycle festival at Riverfront Park on July 17 and 18.

• The council also approved to put a two-year .50 mill proposition on the Aug. 3 primary ballot. The mill would generate about $107,400 per year in 2011 and 2012 for the Niles Dial-A-Ride service.
