Based on a recent survey, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital and its five Borgess Lee Medical Group clinics have once again received accreditation from The Joint Commission.
“I would like to thank our nurses, physicians and all of our employees for their professionalism and efforts during the survey period, as well as their ongoing dedication to providing the highest-quality care to our patients,” Joy Strand, administrator and chief operating officer, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, said Wednesday.
“Accreditation from The Joint Commission underscores our commitment to being best in class in the health care industry.”
To earn accreditation, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital and its clinics underwent a rigorous onsite survey that lasted several days.
The survey was unannounced and conducted by a Joint Commission survey team of experienced, highly trained health care professionals.
Interviewing both patients and staff, the surveyors spent a significant amount of time observing care delivery, particularly focusing on tracking how the hospital’s systems and processes work. The hospital and its five clinics passed the survey with high scores.
The Joint Commission is the acknowledged leader in developing the highest standards for quality and safety in the delivery of health care and evaluating organization performance based on these standards.
Today, more than 17,000 health care providers use Joint Commission standards to guide how they administer care and continuously improve performance.
