Junior Arts Club visiting Mary City of David Sept. 1

On Wednesday, Sept. 1. members of the Dowagiac Junior Arts Club will have the unique experience of touring a portion of Mary’s City of David on East Britain Avenue in Benton Township.

A vegetarian luncheon will be served at noon.

The religious colony’s 81 buildings and 140 acres have recently been designated in the National Register of Historic Places as an historic district.

Directions:  west on Napier Avenue, north on Hillandale, west to 1158 Britain Ave.

The driveway and entrance is on Spring Lane on the left (a large yellow landmark sign of a seven-point star is at that corner).

From Spring Lane, turn left immediately into the driveway of a large red brick building.

Parking is on the right side of the driveway on a grassy field.
