Permelia L. ‘Polly’ Johnson / Feb. 23, 1917-Aug. 4, 2010

Permelia’s life began on Feb. 23, 1917, in Wayne Township, the daughter of Ray and Daisey Bell (Lake) Warner.
Permelia, 93, attended school in Dowagiac and has been a lifelong resident of the area.
She was united in marriage to Allan Johnson on Jan. 1, 1935, in Dowagiac. She was a homemaker who valued spending time with her family.
Permelia did take time out from her household duties to play bridge every other week, which she enjoyed very much.
Her loving family includes: her children, Linda (Leo) Jahnz of Elida, Ohio, Allan (Julie) Johnson Jr. of Crossfield, Tenn., and Daniel (Marge) Johnson of Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bessie Franklin of  Decatur.
Permelia passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Meadow View Estates in Cassopolis.
She is preceded in death by her husband Allan in 1995, her daughter Louise Cox and brother Jasper Warner.
Her family will gather with friends on Friday, Aug. 20, from noon to 1 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Jon DenHouter of First Christian Church.
She will be laid to rest in South Wayne Cemetery following services.
