City police investigating possible impersonator

Dowagiac Police Chief Thomas Atkinson reports that his office investigating a suspicious situation involving a possible police impersonator.
On Sunday, March 2, at about 10:10 p.m., a female driver believed she was being stopped by the police on E. Division Street near Colby Street.
She pulled over due to blue and red lights on the dash of the vehicle behind her.
Upon pulling over, her vehicle was quickly approached by three unidentified males.
One subject attempted to open the rear door of her vehicle. She then became suspicious and sped off.
The vehicle then quickly left the area. The vehicle was described as being an older model Buick or Oldsmobile, last seen going east on Dutch Settlement Street.
Police request that anyone with information about this matter to contact the Dowagiac Police Department.
