Cousins Torie Lowe and Kasey Proshwitz never spent any time on a freshman or junior varsity team in their four-year careers at Dowagiac.

The pair earned varsity letters in all the sports they participated in.

Lowe and Proshwitz, who combined to earn 25 varsity letters, were named the girls’ and boys’ All-Sports Award winners at the 61st annual banquet held Thursday night at the Dowagiac Middle School’s Performing Arts Center.

Lowe, who is the first Dowagiac athlete to earn All-Wolverine Conference honors all four years, finished with 10 varsity letters.

Proshwitz, who competed in four varsity sports, finished with 15 letters.

Lowe lettered two years in golf, earning All-Wolverine Conference honors as a junior and helped lead the Chieftains to the league championship her sophomore year.

She was a four-year all-conference performer in basketball where she helped Dowagiac win the league championship as a freshman.

She was also special mention BCAM All-State her junior and seniors seasons.

Lowe, who holds several records in girls’ basketball, finished her career as the second leading scorer in school history with 1,376.

She has earned four varsity letters in softball, where she helped the Chieftains win the conference title as a freshman.

She is a four-time all-conference performer and tied the school record for homeruns in a single season with six.

Lowe will attend Aquinas College on a softball scholarship.

She was also awarded the basketball and softball awards, as well as receiving the Athletic Booster Scholarship.

Proshwitz participated in boys’ soccer, cross country, wrestling and track during his career.

In soccer, Proshwitz was all-district his junior and senior seasons, as well as first team All-Wolverine this past year.

In cross country, which is also held in the fall along with soccer, he was the team MVP as a sophomore and a state qualifier as a senior.

Proshwitz earned all-conference honors in wrestling this past winter as a senior.
He also received the soccer award.
