Edwardsburg teen charged in fatal crash

CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz has charged Jacob Imanse of Edwardsburg, who turns 18 Tuesday, with two alternative offenses as a result of a crash which occurred Nov. 7, 2006, at the intersection of M-60 and Dailey Road, Jefferson Township.
Carrie Wallace of Dowagiac was killed as a result. Her 3-year-old child survived.
Imanse was arraigned Friday by Fourth District Judge Paul Deats on the charges of manslaughter by motor vehicle, a felony punishable by 15 years and/or $7,500 fine; and negligent homicide, a high court misdemeanor punishable by two years and/or $2,000 fine.
