DUHS freshmen win again

The Dowagiac freshmen basketball team continued to play well on Tuesday night as it defeated visiting Otsego, 52-34.
The Chieftains grabbed a 13-4 first quarter lead, however, the Bulldogs cut the lead to 25-21 at the intermission. Otsego outscored Dowagiac 17-12 in the second quarter.
The Chieftains, winners of five straight, opened up an 11-point bulge after three quarters of play.
Leading 39-28 heading into the fourth quarter, Dowagiac outscored Otsego 13-6 to put the game away.
Dowagiac is now 6-3 on the season.
Brandon Douglas had a huge night for the Chieftains as he picked up a double-double with 25 points and 21 rebounds.
Dowagiac also got nine points from Jalen Nickens and five points each from Damone Huff and Cody Cox.
The Chieftains will travel to Paw Paw on Friday night. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m.
