Fairplain sweeps Chieftains

The Dowagiac Middle School seventh and eighth grade basketball teams were swept by Benton Harbor Fairplain on Wednesday.
The eighth grade Black team dropped a 64-33 decision to the Tigers.
Corey Rodgers led the Chieftains with nine points. Dowagiac also got six points from Tremail Butcher, five points from Austin Adams and four points from Troy Butcher.
Tyquil Douglas added three points, while Cody Darnell, Chris Craft and Tony Nelson all scored two points.
The eighth grade Orange team fell to Fairplain, 55-12.
Cody Carlisle and Tyler Dean both had three points for the Chieftains.
Anthony Russell, Aaron Blaske and Logan Slabaugh scored two points each.
The seventh grade Orange team was defeated by the Tigers, 58-9.
Jeremy Juday led the Chieftains with five points. Sam Courtney scored the other four points.
The Black team dropped a 56-37 decision to Fairplain.
Anthony Banks scored 12 points, while Craig Zebell added 10 points. Dowagiac also got five points from Rolandis Russell and four points from Tony Brooks.
