Eddies capture league tourney

The Edwardsburg golf team continued its end-of-the-year surge with a victory at the Lakeland Conference Tournament Thursday.
The Eddies shot a team total of 340 at Indian Lake Hills to move up two positions to second in the overall league standings. It was the second year in a row Edwardsburg has won the league tournament.
Coloma finished second on Thursday with a team score of 347. Bridgman came in third at 351 while Buchanan finished fourth at 353. River Valley placed fifth at 356, Cassopolis finished sixth at 362, Brandywine came in seventh at 374 and Berrien Springs finished eighth at 377.
Edwardsburg's Matt Lamberton and Bridgman's John Hurst shared medalist honors as each shot 81.
Also competing for Edwardsburg were Jesse Johnson with 85, Nick Roth, Sammy Ludwig and Adam Horn all with 87 and Jon Muff with 90.
Nathan Layher led Buchanan with a score of 82. Matt Adams shot 87 while David Christy and Andrew Colip each shot 92. Jeremy Bachman shot 103 and Scott Lolmaugh shot 105.
Danny Rauch led Brandywine with a round of 89. Joe Sobieralski shot 92 and Kory Bridges shot 93. Justin Sobecki shot 100 while Kevin Curran shot 105 and Mike Beauchamp shot 113.
Coloma finished first in the overall league standings with 63 points. Edwardsburg finished second with 51. River Valley came in third with 49 points and Buchanan finished fourth with 47 points. Bridgman finished fifth with 38 points, Brandywine finished sixth with 35 points, Cassopolis finished seventh with 30 points and Berrien Springs finished eighth with 11 points.
