The Dowagiac freshmen football team dropped a 43-6 loss to visiting Delton-Kellogg Thursday night at Chris Taylor-Alumni Field.
The Chieftain junior varsity squad defeated visiting South Haven, 2-0.

John Meyers scored the lone touchdown for the Chieftains.
Dowagiac was playing Delton-Kellogg instead of South Haven due to the fact that the Rams did not have a ninth grade squad this season.
Playing well offensively for the Chieftains were Cody Cox, Brad Ruminer and Teddy Wirick.
Defensive standouts were Andrew Kurdelmeyer and Destin Payne.
