Niles Community Schools is welcoming 32 new teachers and counselors to the district this year. This continues a series of profiles introducing new teachers to the Niles community.

Where do you come from and where have you taught in the past?
I am from Galien, and I taught one year in Colorado.
Where did you get your teacher's education?
Calvin College, Grand Rapids.
What will you teach at Niles Community Schools?
English
Why did you choose to teach in this school district?
I chose to teach in this school district because there is a strong sense of pride and dedication among the faculty.
Do you have family in the area?
What are you looking forward to as a new teacher in this school district?
Bonding with the English Department.
What did you know about the area before you came here?
A lot. I grew up here.
What do you know about the school district?
The staff is dedicated to education.
How did you become interested in teaching?
I had amazing college professors.
What is your family background?
I am the youngest of four siblings, all of whom reside in this area.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar and reading.
