Chieftains fall to Rams

Three unanswered second half goals lifted visiting South Haven to a 4-2 victory over Dowagiac Friday night in girls' varsity soccer action.
The Lady Rams and Chieftains will be conference foes next season as Dowagiac joins the Wolverine Conference.
The Chieftains and South Haven could meet again this season when district competition begins later this year.
The Lady Rams grabbed an early 1-0 lead when Samantha Wade scored an unassisted goal in the 13th minute.
South Haven scored an own goal in the 22nd minute to knot the score at 1-1.
The score remained tied heading into halftime.
Dowagiac came out and quickly took a 2-1 lead when freshman Emily Primley scored in the 45th minute.
Wade then knotted the score at 2-2 in the 50th minute.
Marisa Mikusko and Katy Urbanski followed with unassisted goals in the 70th and 78th minute to give the Lady Rams the victory.
Dowagiac outshot South Haven 16-15.
Dowagiac is back in action today as it returns to Big 16 Conference West Division play by hosting St. Joseph at 5:45 p.m.
