A benefit for Danny Low of Niles will be held Sunday, Sept. 21, at Firemen's Youth Park in Niles Township.
Danny Low, 7-year-old daughter of Shawn and Jessica Low, had a stroke last May. It is possible that she has a rare disease called MoyaMoya. This relatively unknown disease strikes one in 2,000,000. The arteries to the brain become restricted causing stroke and possible death.
Danny has suffered one stroke already. There is no cure but there is an option. There is a bypass type surgery with a very high success rate. There are only a few doctors in the U.S. that can do it, one in California and one in Boston. The Lows are working with the University of Michigan to try and get treatment for their daughter. They could use your help and prayers. Plus you could have some fun in the process.
For just $10 per person, those attending will enjoy a hog and corn roast at 1 p.m., a motorcycle run at 11 a.m. and softball games beginning at 2 p.m.
Registration for the motorcycle run is at 10 a.m. and the softball games will include teams of men, women or both.
