EDWARDSBURG - Chief Kenneth Wray of the Edwardsburg-Ontwa Police Department reports that his office is investigating a personal-injury accident that occurred at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, on M-62, south of Redfield Street, in Ontwa Township.
Based on physical evidence and statements from witnesses and drivers, Mrs. Carol Tillpe of Edwardsburg was southbound on M-62 when she crossed into the northbound lane, running head-on into a vehicle driven by Mrs. Cindy Culp of Edwardsburg.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital for treatment.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident.
Both drivers were wearing safety belts. Both cars were equipped with air bags.
Edwardsburg Fire Department and Edwardsburg Ambulance personnel assisted officers at the scene.
