NILES -- A man was arrested in Niles on Tuesday pending charges of alleged assault and battery and failure to appear in court.
Paul Duane Sr., 37, 1124 N. 11th St., Niles, was arrested after police officers were dispatched to an alleged assault and battery incident in progress on Ninth Street, the police report said.
Dispatched advised the officers en route that the incident was domestic and that Duane was allegedly punching his 10-year-old son in the head.
Upon arrival, the officers arrested Duane who allegedly smelled of intoxicants.
Duane was transported to the Niles City Police Department where he was booked and lodged with no bond.
