Dowagiac kickers play to tie with Bees

The Dowagiac varsity soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with host Bridgman Wednesday evening.
All the goals were scored in the first half of the contest.
Bridgman's Matt Carlson opened up the scoring with a goal in the third minute.
Dowagiac's Brian Edgerly tied the match with a goal in the 10th minute off an assist from Freddy Soto.
Dowagiac took a 2-1 lead in the 22nd minute as David Cardenas scored of an assist from Andrew Cuthbert.
David Herrera tied the match for the Bees with a goal in the 36th minute off an assist from Carlson.
Dowagiac (1-1-1) outshot Bridgman, 20-15.

Lady Bobcats topple Cassopolis
CASSOPOLIS - Still undefeated.
The Brandywine varsity tennis team ran its record to 4-0 Wednesday afternoon with a 7-1 victory over Cassopolis in Lakeland Conference competition.
The match was the first in the league for both schools.
Cassopolis' lone victory came at No. 2 singles where Kelli Klimek defeated Aubrey Espick.
Winning singles matches for Brandywine were Amy Konopinski, Amelia Harrison and Brittney Patterson.
Taking wins in doubles competition were Bethany Daniel and Ashley Valentine; Erin Sinkoff and Jamie Bartuska; Erin Fuson and Samantha Quartuccio; and Mogan Bailey and Jo Ferenczi.
