The Niles-Buchanan YMCA Youth Sports Program is considering starting a new flag football league.
There will be a meeting at the YMCA at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday to find out if there is any interest in having a flag football league for 4-7 year-olds.

Green's Pennzoil car
in Dowagiac Tuesday
The Jeff Green No. 1 Pennzoil NASCAR Winston Cup race car will be on display at Pioneer Quick Lube on Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The car, owned by Richard Childress Racing, will be available for viewing and for pictures.
Hoop tryouts begin
Niles varsity basketball coach Jim Arnold has announced that tryouts will be held beginning today at Niles High School.
The varsity basketball team began tryouts at 9 a.m. today and concluded at 11:30. The junior varsity was scheduled to tryout from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tryouts will continue through Thursday for the varsity and junior varsity squads.
The freshman team will begin tryouts on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Tryouts for the freshman squad will run from Wednesday until Saturday.
Street Ball coming Aug. 16
CASSOPOLIS -- The Cassopolis Basketball Association is teaming up with Hoop Stars, Inc. to present the 2003 Street Ball Tour Aug. 16 at Ross Beatty High School.
The event will feature appearances by street basketball players made famous by their exploits in arenas like the famous Rucker Park playground courts in New York City.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and play will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and can be purchased at Tony's Talk of the Town, 111 S. Rowland in Cassopolis, Bryann's Hair Design, 1949 Oak Street in Niles, the Charles Black Recreation Center at 3419 W. Washington in South Bend, and Al's House of Styles at 618 N. Olive in South Bend.
