Lake Michigan College at the Bertrand Crossings Campus, along with the rest of the college's locations, is in the midst of Check It Out Week, a series of events and open houses for the college that included a look at the advanced manufacturing and energy production program over the weekend at LMC's M-TEC in Benton Harbor on Saturday.
In addition, the Niles location also announced a new business degree program that may make it easier for those working during the day to work towards an associates degree in business administration.
The business administration degree has concentrations in both business administration and management and marketing.
To appeal to those who already hold working positions, the program will feature classes available at night and on weekends.
"With the new business administration degree programs students can obtain the education and training they need for careers in many fields," said LMC interim dean Barbara Craig. "From finance or human resources to marketing, management and public relations, the business administration associate's degree program can open doors to many new opportunities or be an affordable and convenient start towards a bachelor's degree."
The program can be completed in three years when attending two nights per week and Saturday mornings during the fall and winter semesters and four nights per week during spring semesters.
The new program will launch at the Bertrand Crossings Campus in September.
As part of Check It Out Week, several open houses and events are taking place throughout the college's locations including a Transfer and Business Program Information Night being held today between 6:30 and 8 p.m. at the Blue Lecture Hall at LMC's Napier Avenue Campus in Benton Township.
There, more degree and certificate information will be given on:
– Computer Information Systems
– Hospitality
– Graphic Design
– Office Information Systems
– Marketing/Management
– Transfer agreements with major universities
That same campus location will host another open house this week, Wednesday, June 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. regarding Healthcare Career Training.
That open house will be held on the first floor, C-wing of the Napier Avenue campus and will provide degree and certificate information regarding:
– Nursing
– Radiologic Technology
– Ultrasound
– Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
