Rain can’t halt play

The Dowagiac Little League Roundhouse Round Robin Tournament will continue tonight at Russom Fields.
Despite a strong thunderstorm that rolled through the area late Wednesday afternoon, a handful of games were contested.
Dowagiac's two 9/10-year-old All-Star teams were not in competition due to the fact that Hartford did not come to the tournament.
In games on Wednesday, Eastwood took on South Side Little League No. 1, Oceola took on Howard Township and Berrien Springs took on Mattawan.
No results from those contests were available at press time.
The tournament continues tonight, weather permitting, with 9/10-year-old Pool B action.
At 6 p.m., Dowagiac 10U will take on South Side Little League No. 2, Howard 9UA will take on Paw Paw YBB, East Side Little League will take on Howard 10U.
In the 7:30 p.m. contests, Howard 10U will take on Paw Paw Little League, South Side Little League No. 2 will take on Paw Paw YBB and Dowagiac 10U will take on Howard 9UA.
The schedule is subject to change due to the fact that Hartford is not participating in the tournament.
The tournament will continue on Saturday with games at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Pool play will continue on Tuesday, July 26 at 6 and 7:30 p.m.
The single elimination portion of the tournament will begin on Saturday, July 30 with the semifinals and finals set for Tuesday, Aug. 2.
