Dowagiac Art Guild's 42nd annual arts and crafts show is set for Saturday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds surrounding City Hall.
This year ribbons will be awarded in both fine art and crafts categories.
Three members of the Niles Art Association, Patty Rose, Darren Smith and Toni Smith, will be this year's jurors.
Space is still available. Please contact Dowagiac Art Guild for an application and do come out to see all the wonderful and unique items this summer.
The annual chair fundraiser is under way as well. Chairs this year are NOT being auctioned. Each chair has a price tag right on it and can be sold any time.

At the last members meeting, two chairs were painted by all members as a group project.
Each member in turn was to select a color, then paint a shape on a chair in several places.
The following member would select a different color, paint a different shape and so on.
Results are two very bright, whimsical and colorful chairs.
Both of these are on display at Olympia Book Store.
They make a delightful set!
Chairs not sold before the summer art show Aug. 6 will be sold at the show.
All proceeds this year will be added to the Dowagiac Art Guild scholarship fund at Southwestern Michigan College.
Each year a lucky and deserving art student is selected to receive the Guild's scholarship.
Please help support future artists by purchasing a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted chair.
Finally, meetings are now being held the second Wednesday of each month at Harvest Assembly of God church.
Meeting times are:
6:30 p.m., board meeting.
7 p.m., regular meeting.
All are welcome. You don't have to be a member to attend.
