BATTLE CREEK – Niles sophomore Chris Noble took medalist honors on Saturday at the Division 2 Regional Golf Tournament at Bedford Valley.
Noble was the lone player to shoot under par at the regional event as he fired a 71.
"He played exceptionally well," Niles coach Greg Gunder said. "From what he told me, it could have been better. I am so proud of him."
Wolverine Conference champion Vicksburg won the team title with a score of 310.
East Grand Rapids was second with a 313 and Grand Rapids Christian third with a 316.
The top three teams advance to the state finals this weekend in Allendale.
St. Joseph finished fifth with a 322 and Niles ninth wtih a 332.
Besides Noble's total, the Vikings also got an 83 from Brett Phillips, an 85 from Nick Musser, a 93 from John Schrader and a 111 from Christian Ezell.
