Third annual ‘Animal Af-fair’ July 23

CASSOPOLIS - Now is the time to schedule your appointment for that "purrrfect" portrait of your pet with Woof Studios by calling 445-1233.
Woof Studios of Buchanan will be at the Cass County Animal Shelter on Saturday, July 23, taking pictures of pets.
Portrait appointments begin at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

There is a $6 sitting fee. Proof pictures will be available after the sitting. Picture packages are paid for on that day, with the finished portraits arriving at the animal shelter in four to six weeks.
The Shelter will be hosting the third annual Animal Af-fair on Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event precedes summer activities of Dowagiac Fun Fest and Cass County Fair week.
Events of the annual Animal Af-fair include a live Animal Af-fair Canine Contest with awards in the divisions of best dressed, most talented and most beautiful.
Entry forms for the canine contests are available at the shelter.
Registration for the canine contest begins July 11 and runs through July 23.
There is a $3 entry fee per division for the canine contest.
Final check-in is 10 to 10:45 a.m., with contest judging starting at 11.
There will be a "Whiskers 2005 Feline Photo Contest" and a "Bow Wow 2005 Canine Photo Contest."
Cat and dog owners interested in entering a picture of their pet in the contest will need to complete an entry form and provide a photo. Entry fee for the contest is $3.00. Deadline for entry in either the *Whiskers* or *Bow Wow contests is July 23rd with each contest being limited to ten contestants. The number of *votes* they receive, with one vote being a dime, will determine the winner of the contest. Voting will begin on July 25th at the Shelter, and continue through Dowagiac FunFest and Fair week at the Animal Shelter booth.
There will also be vendors and a bake sale on the Shelter grounds on the day of Animal Af-*fair*.
Proceeds of Animal Af-*fair* will to be used for spay/neuter assistance to Cass County residents, veterinary assistance for Shelter animals and Shelter promotion.
