Antiques appraisal on May 7

Antique Flair, an appraisal clinic, will be held on Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at the William P.D. O'Leary Building on Southwestern Michigan College's Dowagiac campus.
This event provides a casual appraisal and historical information on items brought by patrons.
Tickets cost $15 and include one item for casual appraisal (an appraisal for a second item is an additional $7) and can be purchased by calling the Dogwood Fine Arts Festival at 269/782-1115, online at www.dogwoodfinearts.org or at the door.
The event features Britton Knolles of ABK Auction and Appraisal Service of South Bend, Ind.
Knolles is certified by the Certified Appraisers Guild of America (CAGA) and has been an appraiser for 26 years.
Mary Friske, a CAGA appraiser for 20 years, will join him in giving casual appraisals of common items.
An introductory presentation on antique collecting will precede the appraisals.
Participants will learn tips on collecting antiques and the tools every treasure-hunter needs in their trunk.
