The Niles High School Athletic Department hosted its second annual Wormburner Open golf outing Monday, June 16, at Orchard Hills Country Club.
In its first year the outing included 96 golfers with four hole sponsors and raised $11,000.
This year 104 golfers participated. There were 17 hole sponsors, two corporate sponsors and the event raised $14,500.
The proceeds from the Wormburner Open will be used to augment the funding of the Niles Athletic Department.
Three winning teams were crowned at this year's event, as three divisions were set.
In the men's division the team from Architectual Systems Design, captained by Doug Gibson, won with a score of 17 under par.
Rick McKeel's team won the mixed division after defeating Dan Brawley's team in a playoff.
Laurie Ryan's team won the women's division.
