The Niles baseball team managed just two hits against Mattawan in a Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference loss Tuesday.
The Vikings got a double from Ryne Dowling and a single from Kyle Isabel as they suffered a 2-1 setback, dropping their record to 15-14 on the year.
Dowling ended up taking the pitching loss after starter John Kessick was relieved by Brooks Bonner in the fourth and Dowling took over in the sixth.
The Vikings return to action Saturday at the St. Joseph Invitational.
