Donald Francis and Margaret Jean (Macdonald) Bender of 811 Tomahawk Lane, Niles, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a small gathering of family and friends on Friday, Aug. 22, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Orchard Hills Country Club in Niles, hosted by their son and his wife, Steve and Amy Bender.
The couple were married on Aug. 21, 1948.
She is a retired English teacher and her husband is a retired physical education teacher
Besides their son, Stephen Scott (Amy) Bender, they have three grandchildren, Lauren, Michelle and Ali.
