Join Fernwood and WVPE Public Radio for an evening on the Green featuring jazz music by singer, composer, arranger and producer Grazyna Auguscik. Grazyna has won the praise and admiration of music critics, jazz enthusiasts, and even non-jazz audiences with a singular voice that speaks a universal language.

Food by Fernwood’s Executive Chef Tim Carrigan and beer and wine by the Round Barn Winery will be available for purchase. This event is free to members of WVPE and Fernwood; all others are $5. WVPE Event

Cement Cast Leaf Sculptures

1 to 3 p.m. Saturday

Capture the natural beauty of leaves in this class on cement leaf casting. Peg Spromberg shows how to make leaf sculptures for garden, home, and patio, using small hosta leaves and cement. Dress to get messy. $25 (Members $20). Limited openings; register by Wednesday.

Danielle Nielsen of Captures Life Photography will be in the garden on Sunday and July 28 doing lifestyle portrait mini-sessions.

These mini-sessions take 20 minutes and are ideal for smaller families or just the kids. It’s a relaxed, laid-back approach to family portraits. To schedule a session, contact Danielle at (574) 339-6272.

Drop-In Art Station: Toilet Paper Sculptures

2 to 4 p.m. Saturday

Enjoy fun hands-on educational activities at Fernwood’s Drop-in Stations this summer. This week is toilet paper sculptures, making art from very common materials. Great for families! Art Stations are free with paid Fernwood admission.

Member Mornings

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m.

The early hours of the day are lovely at Fernwood, not to mention the temperatures are cooler. Members are invited to enjoy an early morning walk, birding or photography on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings beginning at 7:30 a.m. through fall. Check in at the front desk.

Wine and Weed Wednesdays

6 p.m.

Join Fernwood staff in the gardens every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. for an hour of light gardening, followed by conversation on the cafe deck while enjoying good company and an excellent vintage. Advance registration is not necessary but is appreciated in order to plan the projects for the evening.
