NILES -- Niles High School senior Andy Brandstatter has committed to continue his football career at DePauw University.
Brandstatter started at linebacker the last three seasons for the Niles varsity football team and was the team's leading tackler all three seasons. He also earned All-Conference honors all three seasons.
Brandstatter, who owns a grade point average of better than 3.5, was named Academic All-State and also participated in wrestling, student council and the N Club.
Brandstatter led the Vikings to back-to-back playoff berths during his junior and senior seasons.
DePauw is an NCAA Division III school located in Greencastle, Ind., about 200 miles south of Niles. The Tigers are a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and finished the 2002 season with an overall record of 7-3 and league mark of 5-1. Nick Mourouzis is the head coach.
