M-40 Speedway gets back to business

JONES – The M-40 Speedway was back in action after Mother Nature flexed her muscles over the last three weeks with some hot racing action.
The M-40 Mod Squad joined the action along the Pure Stocks, Pro Stockers, and Outlaw Late Models making it a full 4-1 show.
Matt Bainbridge set quick time out of 30 Pure Stockers on the property with a lap of 14.449 at 93.432 MPH. John Long picked up the first heat race of the evening over Scott Rozner, Jerry Hamilton, Greg Haynes, and Cody Dale. Todd Taylor picked up heat race number two over Jason Weber, Neal Grice, Jason Rhoades, Bob Teadt, Jr. rounding out the top 5.
The third heat race was won by rookie Jeremy Pletz over Kenneth Dodd, Jim McGinnis, Roland Barnes, and Tyler Hufford.
The 25 lap Pure Stock feature saw Haynes pick up his first ever M-40 Speedway feature win over Matt Bainbridge, Rhoades, Jeff Rhoades, Tim Thurston, Lloyd Brooks, Scott Rozner, Dale, Travis Rozner, and Neil Grice rounding out the top 10.
The 15 lap B feature saw Chris Singleton pick up the win over Jason Weber, Roland Barnes, Chad Wilkins, Tyler Hufford, Tim Pletz, Dodd, Todd Stamm, Jerry Holmes, and McGinnis rounding out the top 10.
Jeff Ganus set quick time in the Pro Stocks with a lap of 13.431 at 100.514 MPH besting 20 other cars. Alex Pratt picked up the first heat race win over John Ferrier, Rich Mersereau, Mickey Cornwell, and Robbie Ferrier.
David Guarino picked up the second heat race of the night over Gary Chapman, Bill Hartman, Fred Reed, and Josh Smith.
The 30 lap Pro Stocks feature saw Pat Harding get out to the early lead until John Long took lead to set up a heck battle with Brandon Zachery. Zachery took the lead from John Long around lap 24 to pick up the win over Mersereau, Cornwell, Robbie Ferrier, Long, Ganus, John Ferrier, Alex Pratt, Reed, and Hartman rounding out the top 10.
Ganus set quick time in the Modifieds with a lap of 13.331 over 17 other Modifieds at 101.268 MPH.
Ralph Baxter picked up the first heat race win over Allen Darlison, Travis Stepp, Don Skaggs, and Ronnie Mc Lean.
The second heat race saw Tom Jewell pick up the win over Ben Raber, Dan Frazier, Tim Burkett, and Mike Zordan.
Mike "Bubba" Brooks drop a bomb in the 30 lap feature, that saw him take the lead from the pole postion and hang on for his first ever Modified and M-40 Speedway feature win over Ronnie Mc Lean, Burkett, Frazier, Ben Raber, Skaggs, Mike Zordan, Mark Shook, Allen Darlison, and Chris Shannon rounding out the top 10 finishers.
The Outlaw Late Models saw Ganus pick up his third fast time of the night with a lap of 12.681 at 106.458 MPH. The first heat race was picked up by Jeff Vochaska over Rick Hahn, Jr., Eric McGlothlen, Mike Zordon, and Ganus.
The second heat race saw Kenny Lollar, Jr. pick up the win over Dan Roodvoets, Greg Himes, Roger Northup, and Jake Hopwood.
The 40 lap feature saw Vochaska pick up the win over Zordan, Jeff Ganus, Phil Bozell, McGlothlen, Ron Coburn, Tom Wright, Jake Hopwood, Matt Krywonski, and Doug Roadanhisler rounding out the top 10.
The M-40 Speedway will be back in action on Friday night with the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints, O'Reilly USA Mods, and Michigan Legends cars.
The pit gates open at 2 p.m. with Hotlaps starting at 3 p.m. The racing action will start at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
