Jeremy Douglas Outlaw, 32, of Elkhart, Ind., died Friday, June 29, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 19, 1979, in Kalamazoo, to Douglas and Kathleen (Fries) Outlaw. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Fries; and paternal grandparents, Clarence, Sr., and Rose Mae (Fuqua) Outlaw.
Jeremy was proud to be a dad, patient with his children and loved to spend time with them. He had a passion for football, whether watching it, playing it in high school and college, or coaching his son, Armand, in his Pop Warner league. He had a serious interest in photography, working for Skye and Club Fever. Before his illness, he would work out at the gym as many as five times a week. Jeremy was adept at looking at the big picture, and loved his work as a financial planner.
Jeremy will be missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Whitfield, of Grand Rapids; his father, Douglas Outlaw, of South Bend, Ind.; his maternal grandmother, Loreen Fries, of Niles; one daughter, Gianna Outlaw; two sons, Armand and Noah Outlaw; one sister, Jasmine Outlaw, of Kalamazoo; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, July 5, 2012, from 4 to 8:00 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Miller, pastor of First Missionary Church, Niles, officiating.
