Vincent D. "Vince" Dixon, 22, of North Fifth Street, Niles, died on Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Copp Road at Silverbrook Drive, Niles, following an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, at Michiana Christian Embassy, Niles, with Pastor Jeffrey L. Whittaker of the church officiating along with the Rev. Monte Brunner of Hope Community Church.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
"The Final Bell" ceremony will follow the committal service at the graveside by Niles City Fire Department.
He was born on Jan. 9, 1986, in Pontiac to Floyd Dixon, Sr. and Janette Coleman Dixon.
He had lived in Niles since 1997 and graduated from Niles High School. He was a firefighter with the City of Niles Fire Department.
He attended Hope Community Church in Niles and had previously attended Michiana Christian Embassy in Niles.
He attended Southwestern Michigan College.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing in this area.
Surviving family includes his parents, Floyd and Janette Dixon, Sr. of Cassopolis; a sister, Demetra Dixon of Mishawaka, Ind.; a brother, Floyd "Joseph" Dixon, Jr. of Mishawaka, Ind.; a niece, James and his grandmother, Birdette Dixon of Pontiac.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Dixon, who died in infancy and his grandparents, Eddie Dixon, Lawrence Coleman and Leola Coleman.
Memorial contributions may be made to Youth Ministry at Michiana Christian Embassy or Youth Ministry at Hope Community Church.
