Florence I. Kull, 75, of Dayflower, Niles, died at 4:03 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind., following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with the Rev. Christopher Kruchkow of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.
Friends may begin calling at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1933, in Berrien County, to Victor Lyle and Gala (Stubelt) Smith, Sr.
She graduated from Benton Harbor High school class of 1951 and moved to Niles in 1953.
She was a former employee of Niles Printing.
She was an active member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Niles.
She enjoyed a variety of crafts and volunteered by crocheting more than 2,000 baby hats for newborns at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles. As a member of Women in the Park, she made baby blankets and quilts, which they donated to the Ronald McDonald House, nursing homes and unwed mothers. They also cooked food for the Hope Rescue Mission in South Bend, Ind.
On Oct. 21, 1971, in Benton Harbor, she married Jerrold L. Kull, who survives.
Surviving family includes: a son, Gary L. (Cathy) Kull of Niles; daughter-in-law, Jenny A. Kull of Niles; a grandson, Staff Sgt. Ryan G. (Shalonda) Kull of Wichita, Kan.; granddaughters, Molli (Kelly) Young of Pope Air Force base, N.C. and Shawne (Fred) Clark of Mishawaka, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Chloe Young, Skyler McKowan and Emma Ayron Kull and a brother, Victor L. Smith, Jr. of Leesburg, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a son, Perry Gard Kull, who died June 25, 2002 and a grandson, Cpl. Ayron C. Kull, who died April 4, 2006.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home or Berrien County Cancer Service.
