Boating safety classes continue today

CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reminds people that the marine season is fast approaching.
He advises that people need to make sure their boats and all safety equipment are in working order to insure a fun and safe season on the waters in Cass County.
To help ensure a safe season this year the Cass County Sheriff's Office will be conducting several boater safety classes.
The boating safety certificate is only valid for students who are older then 12 years old and they should have their 12th birthday in 2008 to pre-register.
Students are required to pre-register by calling the Cass County Sheriff's Office at (269) 445-1240 and register with the administration front desk.
Please have the student's legal name, address, phone number and date of birth at the time of registration.
All classes start at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 3 p.m.
Students are required to bring a No. 2 pencil, a sack lunch and something to drink. Adults are recommended to take the class.
Anybody born after Dec. 31, 1978, must have a boating safety certificate to ride a personal water craft.

July 26 – Indian Lake Yacht Club, 55900 Indian Lake Road, Dowagiac.
