CASSOPOLIS – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin work on a $1.3 million project on US-12 and M-217 in Cass County on Monday, June 9.
Work includes resurfacing 11.8 miles of US-12 from M-62 to Mason Street, and 1.6 miles of M-217 from the state line to US-12.
"This project will extend the life of these pavements by approximately five years," said Paul South, manager of MDOT's Transportation Service Center in Coloma.
Work will take place during daytime hours only. Throughout the project, one lane of alternating traffic will be open on US-12 using flag control, and there will be single lane closures on M-217.
Work is expected to be completed by late August.
