Phyllis Galyan Clayton, 70, of Niles, formerly of South Bend, Ind., died Friday morning, May 9, 2008, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.
A memorial service will be held at the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Ind. at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1938, in Bloomington, Ind., to Harley and Edith (Brinegar) Galyan.
She was a graduate of Indiana University and worked as a cafeteria manager for the South Bend Schools for several years.
She was an active manager of the Dowagiac Church of Christ and the author of a book on living with type 1 diabetes.
She was the office manager and publisher of the "Does God Exist?" program she and her husband John have carried on for 40 years in South Bend, Ind. and Dowagiac.
She is survived by her husband, John; a son, Timothy Clayton of South Bend, Ind.; two daughters, Catherine Haught of Abilene, Texas and Wendy Howe of Irving, Texas; three grandsons and two granddaughters.
