Lorraine V. Wells, 86, of North Philip Road, Niles, died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at her home, following an extended illness.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 12, at Scottdale United Methodist Church, Saint Joseph, with the Rev. Terrill M. Schneider of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Run Cemetery, Saint Joseph.
She was born on March 28, 1922, in Saint Joseph, to Clyd E. Geisler and Lillie M. Patzkowsky Geisler. She had lived in Niles for 60 years coming from Saint Joseph.
She attended Scottdale United Methodist Church, in her childhood. She enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was a special mother and homemaker.
She married Alton T. Wells, who survives, on Dec. 31, 1942 in Sebring, Fla.
Surviving family includes two daughters, Kaye Wells of High Point, N.C. and JoAnn (Jack) Mann of Mooresville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Steve Yonker, Brett Yonker and Deanielle Bowman; great-grandchildren, Kary, Kayla, Kailyn, and Kyleigh Yonker; a sister-in-law, Helen Geisler; nieces, Jean Williams and Patti Hoffman and nephews, Warren Geisler and John Geisler.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley Geisler and Neil Geisler.
Memorials may be made to Scottdale United Methodist Church, 4276 Scottdale Road, Saint Joseph, MI 49085.
