COLDWATER – The Niles junior varsity baseball team captured the Coldwater Invitational on Saturday to run its winning streak to 12 games.
The Vikings defeated Fremont (Ind.) in the opening round 15-0 in three innings.
Niles then edged Adrian 7-6 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The Vikings led 2-0, trailed 4-2, tied the game at 4-4 and was tied 6-6 heading to the final half inning.
In the title game, Niles defeated the host Cardinals 13-4.
