Edwardsburg falls short

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Edwardsburg advanced to the semifinals of the Little League Central Regional Tournament on Saturday with a 6-3 victory over Kentucky.
The win gave Edwardsburg, which is the Indiana state champion, a 2-1 record in Pool B.
Edwardsburg lost its first game on Thursday to Michigan, 5-0, but rebounded to defeat Illinois 6-1 on Friday.
Edwardsburg took on District 11 in the semifinals on Monday and were defeated 10-0.
In the other semifinal, Ohio edge the Michigan state champion 2-1.
Edwardsburg managed just one hit in the semifinals against Brittney Cossey, who struck out nine and did not walk a batter.
In the championship game, District 11 defeated Ohio 14-4 to win the Central Regional championship and advance to the World Series in Delaware.
Santana Bozman hit three home runs in the title game to propel District 11 to the championship.
