NILES – Forever Young Publishers have announced that their latest title, "The Curious Polka-Dot Present" has been named "Silver Recipient" of the prestigious Mom's Choice Award 2008 in the Children's Picture Book Category.
Written in lyrical rhyme, The Curious Polka-Dot Present, is a wonderful story that illustrates the special love between a granddaughter and grandmother. After much anticipation, a little girl receives a curious-looking birthday gift in the mail and soon discovers the unique handmade gift it holds.
In 2007, The Mom's Choice Awards named Cheri L. Hallwood's first picture book, "Winter's First Snowflake," Gold Recipient" in the Holiday Category, and "Most Outstanding Children's Book 2007." Patricia M. Rose, also from Niles, is the illustrator for both books.
Recipients of the awards were based on their stellar and notable content and design. The Mom's Choice awards help guide parents, caregivers, educators and retailers in selecting materials and products for children and families. Some of the categories include Children's Behavioral, Children's Holiday, Children's Chapter Books, Parenting Books, Journals and Education Products, plus Children and Parenting web sites.
"We are very proud and humble to be recognized by such an outstanding organization," said Hallwood. "Receiving last year's award was so exciting, but being told you have been chosen for the second year is even more exciting."
