Hartman sets discus record again

GOBLES – Evan Hartman continues his record-setting season for the Brandywine boys track team.
Hartman, who broke the school record in the discus the previous week, established another record at the Gobles Little Guys Invitational Friday.
Hartman turned in the third-best effort in the state in the discus with a record toss of 159-7 to win the event.
He helped Brandywine finish fourth. Watervliet won the meet with 101 poitns, Muskegon Catholic Central was second with 69 and Saugatuck third with 67.5. The Bobcats finished with 57 points.
AJ Srmek grabbed Brandywine’s other first place finish as he won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 40.19.
The Bobcats were second in the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 3:33.81. That team consisted of Nathan Anders, Courtlan Gordon, Michael Shelton and Srmek.
Gordon also took third in the 200-meters with at time of 23.40.
