Niles woman named finalist in Miss Michigan

Eugenia Bryant, 18, of Niles, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Michigan Pageant July 28-30 in Dearborn, Mich.

The pageants are held for girls ages 4 to 18 and have five age divisions. Eugenia will participate in the 16 to 18 age division.

Eugenia, the daughter of Anita Bryant, of Niles, was the first New Year’s baby in Niles in 1994. She is active in dancing, youth group, the Allied Health program, and enjoys swimming, helping the elderly, bicycling and cooking.

Her sponsors include family, friends and Mamie Thomas Life Changing Ministries.

The winner of the pageant will receive $1,000, a crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant in California, where she will receive a tour of Hollywood and two VIP tickets to Disneyland.
