NILES – The Ring Lardner seventh grade Gold boys' basketball team got off to a quick start against St. Joe Upton and never trailed en route to a 33-26 victory.
The Vikings did a nice job rebounding the basketball and from the free throw line to earn the win. The Gold team has now won back-to-back games for the first time this year.
Leading the balanced attack for Niles was Gevanta Nichols with 10 points, while John Franklin and Aaron Pierce both finished with eight.
Elbert Briggs added five points and Matt Schiele finished with two points.
The Vikings will next look to avenge an earlier loss to Lakeshore on the road this Thursday at 4 p.m.
