NILES – Downtown Niles is the spot to be this weekend as the City prepares to celebrate the holiday season.
Santa will kick things off as he will be at the Riverfront Park Amphitheater on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
Children will get a chance to visit with Santa and will receive a coloring book and candy cane. There will be free refreshments, including hot chocolate and coffee and donut holes.
Around 600 children attend this event each year and parents are encouraged to bring their children.
On Sunday, everyone is invited to decorate downtown for the holidays from 1 to 3 p.m. Trees will be placed in planters and garland and wreaths will be hung.
There will be hot chocolate and chili for anyone who volunteers. Those wishing to help should gather at 210 E. Main St. around 1 p.m.
