Jackson Lumen Christi posts 27-20 win over Buchanan Friday

JACKSON – An end to an exciting season came Friday night at Jackson High School for the Buchanan Bucks football team as it dropped its district final game 27-20 to Jackson Lumen Christi.
The loss ends the Bucks' fine season at 8-3 after making their third playoff in four years.
Coming into Fridays game, the Bucks knew they would have their hands full with the powerhouse Titans.
Clinton Orr didn't waste any time in getting the Bucks on the scoreboard, taking the first play to paydirt for a 75-yard carry. Josh Borr's point afterkick gave Buchanan a quick 7-0 lead.
"I'm proud of our team They did a heck of a job tonight," Buchanan coach Joe Austin said. "What can you say about Lumen Christi they have an awesome coaching staff. Half of their staff is ex-Notre Dame football stars and Herb Brogan is an outstanding guy and is a class guy and that is what we want out of our program."
Lumen Christi also took their first drive of the night in for a score taking the ball 53-yards in 11 plays to tie the game at seven.
The Titans took the lead on a 13-yard run by Rafe Bellers early in the second quarter. The missed point after gave Jackson a 13-7 lead.
Buchanan scored after the first of three fumbles for the Titans was recovered by Aaron White. Again it was a one play drive for the Bucks with Marquis Hall taking it 47 yards for the touchdown. The missed point after knotted the game at 13.
Lumen Christi punched it in for a score with 2:35 of the first half to take a 20-13 first half lead.
The Titans took their opening drive of the second half 79 yards 14 plays to extend the lead to 27-13 with 5:37 to play in the third quarter.
Buchanan's final score of the drive came on a 3-yard run by Hall. Hall finished the night with 95 yards rushing on 15 carries and picked up 25 yard on a pass from Taylor Oake.
Orr picked up 125 yards rushing on 13 totes. The Bucks finished the night with 228 yards on the ground and 88 through the air on 5-of-8 passing by Oake. Jackson finished the night with 328 yards rushing and 33 passing yards.
