BUCHANAN – The Lakeland Conference will once again converge on Buchanan for a conference final.
The Bucks hosted the league's cross country finale on Monday and will now host the volleyball tournament on Saturday.
Current conference leader Coloma will try to hold off second place Edwardsburg this Saturday beginning at 2 p.m.
In Pool A will be Coloma, Berrien Springs, Buchanan and Bridgman.
Pool B will consist of Edwardsburg, Brandywine, River Valley and Cassopolis.
Pool play will begin at 2 p.m.
Pool play will consist of two games to 25 with a cap at 25.
In Buchanan's main gym, Coloma will open up against Bridgman on Court 1, while Berrien Springs will take on Buchanan on Court 2.
The remaining games on Court 1 will have Buchanan against Coloma and Coloma against Berrien Springs.
The final two matches on Court 2 will have Bridgman taking on Berrien Springs and Buchanan facing Bridgman.
In the auxiliary gym, Edwardsburg and Cass will begin competition on Court 1. On Court 2 will be Brandywine and River Valley.
Also on Court 1 will be River Valley vs. Edwardsburg and Edwardsburg vs. Brandywine.
On Court 2, the final matches will have Cass vs. Brandywine and River Valley vs. Cass.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the championship round in the main gym.
The third and fourth place teams will compete in the auxiliary gym in the consolation round.
Tournament play will consist of a best two out of three format to 25 points with no cap. If a third game is necessary, it will be played to 15.
Buchanan will also host the Lakeland Conference junior varsity tournament on Thursday beginning at 5 p.m.
Big 16 Tournament
Niles will travel to St. Joseph on Saturday for the Big 16 tournament, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The format for this tournament calls for single elimination with all 15 places being played out.
The seeding will be based on division standings and crossover match results.
No seeding is available since tonight will be the final round of crossover competition.
Niles will host Kalamazoo Loy Norrix tonight in its final regular season match.
Play is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Matches at the Big 16 tournament will consist of the best two out of three format with games to 25 points and no cap.
A third game, if necessary, will be played to 15.
Four courts will be used for the tournament. Courts 1 and 2 will be in the competition gym, while Courts 3 and 4 will be in the fieldhouse.
