While Michigan residents were worried about what was going to happen with the state budget, the rest of the world was worried about Britney Spears losing her children.
That's right, the once bald, party hopping, binge drinking blonde, brunette and black haired singer temporarily lost custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, as father Kevin Federline will take over custody until further notice today at noon.
What has society come to when K-Fed, known for making his rapping debut on a fast food commercial and a regular in the night life party scene, is dubbed the "good" parent.
The only people you can feel sorry for in this type of situation is the poor kids, who are still very young. Can you imagine how they will look at their parents and their life 15-20 years from now when old celebrity gossip magazines pop up with their baby faces plastered all over them. Or how about when Federline decides he's going to put the kids in his next big rap gig.
They are the ones who are going to suffer from this, not Spears or Federline.
It's sad to see what has happened to Spears, but everyone has their down falls and this just happens to be the tip of the iceberg. Maybe this will bring her back to reality and make her realize that just because she is a celebrity, she won't receive special treatment.
Maybe she needs to go back to Louisiana and lay low for a while. Even though she isn't speaking with her mother at the moment, it would do her a world of good to get away from the Hollywood lifestyle and come back to the real world.
Even though this was made public, situations like this happen by the thousands everyday in the United States. Some parents don't take responsibilities when it comes down to raising children. They do and say things that can change the entire outcome not only of their life, but their child's as well.
We can only wish the best for Spears and Federline and hope that maybe, just maybe, this has taught both of them a huge lesson.
