NILES – Power, speed, determination and play-making ability. That's the list of football traits Cassopolis displayed Friday night in it's 54-0 victory over Brandywine at Selge Field could go on and on.
But to put it in it's simplest form, the Rangers were simply too much in to many phases for the Bobcats.
The Rangers first possesion resulted in a touchdown from Larry Harris from one-yard out.
Cass' DaShaun Curtis once again dominated the Rangers' running game. Curtis scored from 18, 43, and 60 yards out boasting his season touchdown record to 20.
"He is hard worker and gets the job done. He has god given talent and when he gets in the open field he is real hard to bring down," Andy Hubbard said.
Along with Curtis and Harris, Kyle Haithcox also crossed paydirt for the Rangers as well as Mike DeGraff.
The Bobcats were without their leading rusher Caleb Frazier. Frazier is out nursing an injury.
The Ranger's sixth victory clinches them a playoff spot.
"That is what we stressed this week, put us in the playoffs and play some extra games and that was a goal for us. I thought we did a good job, we came out and executed and we played well," Ranger coach Andy Hubbard said. "Our defense keeps getting better but we have to clean up some things in practice and just get better every week.'
The Bobcats (2-4), struggled all game to get anything going offensively. Their opening drive of the game took them to the Rangers 39-yard line, but turned the ball over-on-downs, they even used a shotgun offense to get things going, which they have been experimenting with.
"They have got a very good offensive and defensive line and that is where games are won. We had to wide against them because we couldn't control the line of scrimmage so we figure to spread it out and get it to our athletes," Bobcats coach Terry Borr said.
Brandywine travels to River Valley next Friday while Cass hosts Berrien Springs.
