NILES – The Ring Lardner seventh grade Gold volleyball team defeated Lakeshore on Monday in a three-game thriller.
The Lady Vikings won the opening game 25-13, but dropped the second game 25-22. Niles then took the match with a 15-10 win in the third and deciding game.
Andrea Sabat led the Lady Vikings with eight points, while Alyssa VanLue added seven points. Niles also got five points from Karon Nichols and four points from Tara Smith.
Coach Erin Miller singled out Erica Haimbaugh for her defensive play.
Niles will host John Young on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
