Niles volleyball team wins Bronze Division title

NILES – The Niles varsity volleyball team won the Bronze Division of the Kalamazoo Central Mid-Season Classic on Saturday.
The Lady Vikings defeated Grand Ledge to take the title.
In reaching the Bronze title game, Niles lost to Traverse City West and North Branch, split with Monroe and defeated Reeths Puffer and Three Rivers.
No match scores were provided.
Katie Bourbonnais finished the tournament with 22 kills, nine blocks, 18 digs and two aces. Kaylynn Stephenson added 18 kills and five aces.
Niles also got 15 kills and five blocks from Patricia Anton, while Karly Kennedy had a team-high 39 digs.
Samantha Brawley finished with 22 digs and 39 assists, while Demi Schrader had 24 assists.
The Lady Vikings return to action tonight as they host South Bend Riley. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The freshmen and junior varsity matches are slated for 6 p.m.
